The Transit Workforce Center is pleased to host a curated collection of publications and other materials to assist stakeholders engaged in transit workforce development. The Resource Center includes case studies, training materials, research reports, and other materials of interest, including publications produced by federal government agencies, transit organizations, and independent research entities. Resources may be filtered by topic, resource type, and transit mode. This TWC blog post explains how to use the Resource Center.

Description: As part of the California Community Colleges ongoing efforts to meet the state’s need for an educated and skilled workforce, Proposition 98 funds are available for the CAI New & Innovative (N&I) Pre-Apprenticeship and Apprenticeship Grant Program. The goal of the CAI N&I Grants Program Fiscal Year 2022-23 Applications is to create new and innovative apprenticeship opportunities in priority and emerging industry sectors or areas in which apprenticeship training is not fully established or does not exist. Eligible applicants are limited to educational institutions.

The CAI Grant offers three categories of funding to support apprenticeship programs as they get launched:

  • Planning Grants up to $120,000
  • Implementation Grants up to $1,500,000
  • Expansion Grants up to $1,000,000.

Description: The primary goals of the ETM Demonstration Grants are to improve the employment outcomes of multiply marginalized people with disabilities, specifically youth and young adults with disabilities (Y&YAD), as well as to increase states’ capacity to develop innovative employment strategies for underserved Y&YAD and their families. The ETM grants will support up to four grantees in developing scalable strategies to enable multiply marginalized Y&YAD ages 14 to 24 to successfully transition into the workforce.

Description: The fourth round of Strengthening Community Colleges Training Grants (SCC4) will increase the capacity and responsiveness of community colleges to meet the skill development needs of employers and equitably support students in obtaining good jobs in in-demand industries. The lead applicant of an SCC Partnership must be a community college that is a public institution as defined in Section 101(a) of the Higher Education Act, and at which the associate degree is primarily the highest degree awarded. Employers and the public workforce development system are required partners for all projects, which must also include a sector convener partner unless the lead or another partner serves in that role.

Description: ARISE is an ARC initiative that aims to drive large-scale, regional economic transformation through multistate, collaborative projects across Appalachia.

With the additional funding provided by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, also known as the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021, ARC launched ARISE to strengthen Appalachian business and industry, and to grow and support the development of new opportunities across multiple states.
