TWC created this Skills Gap Analysis (SGA) Template for transit locations to use to create their own skills gap analysis surveys. The template includes recommended language to use when distributing a survey; a recommended scale with levels and descriptions; a recommended question format; and example questions for electrical fundamentals. Skills gap analysis surveys should be conducted anonymously and confidentially.
This tool is provided as a resource. Users are responsible for conducting employee surveys and managing employee data in a safe and responsible manner. See Terms & Conditions for more information.
In addition to the downloadable Word document template linked below, TWC has created templates in Microsoft Forms and Google Forms that you can adapt to create your own skills gap analysis surveys. To use these templates:
- Click either link below
- Create a copy of the template to begin editing your own survey (click “Duplicate it” in Microsoft forms or “Use template” in Google forms). Your survey will now be available under “My forms” in Microsoft forms or in Google Forms/Google Drive.
- Update the introductory language and survey questions to suit your needs. TWC asks that you retain the language crediting TWC, FTA’s technical assistance center for transit workforce development, with creating the template upon which the survey is based.
- Update survey settings to ensure that it is accepting responses, can only be completed by the appropriate people within your transit agency, and protects the anonymity of respondents.
