Transit Core Competencies Curriculum (TC3) Program

The Transit Core Competencies Curriculum (TC3) Program is a set of freely available course materials developed by transit organization subject matter experts from across the country, designed to support the growth and development of the frontline transit workforce. TC3 provides flexible, industry-informed training materials that help build foundational technical knowledge and workplace readiness skills for both new and current transit employees.

The program includes training materials in:

Designed to be modular and adaptable, TC3 can support a variety of workforce development goals including onboarding, refresher training, upskilling, pre-apprenticeship programs, and career pathway initiatives.

The materials can be tailored to reflect local equipment, operational environments, organizational priorities, and workforce needs, helping agencies create practical and sustainable training programs that strengthen employee confidence, consistency, and long-term workforce success.

TC3 courses will be released in phases. Electrical Foundations is the first course available, with additional topic areas launching each month.
