American Transit Training and Apprenticeship Innovators Network

TWC’s American Transit Training and Apprenticeship Innovators Network (ATTAIN) is designed to help transit agencies, labor unions, and other partners explore the idea of apprenticeship and mentorship for their frontline workforce, develop new programs, and enhance existing programs. Through ATTAIN, TWC advances frontline worker training, facilitates peer exchange, and provides technical assistance around apprenticeship and mentorship programs. 

TWC holds ATTAIN meetings and webinars regularly. These events provide a forum for transit agencies and their partners to learn from each other, share resources, celebrate their successes, and work through challenges. While there are commonalities for apprenticeship programs across transit occupations, each apprenticeship program is unique and is tailored to the needs of the particular employer and workforce. In addition, every occupation has its own distinct training needs, which impact the length of the program, its general structure, and associated best practices. 

Recognizing this, ATTAIN events generally focus on one of the following occupational groups:
